As part of their studies, students on the ballet pathway will join Images Ballet Company, LSC’s own touring Ballet company.

Founded in 1991, the company was created to provide classical ballet dancers with invaluable performing experience. Images now presents a diverse programme of new, innovative ballets and successful revivals of significant works.

Networking and Career Development

Throughout the year choreographers, company directors and industry professionals are invited to deliver workshops and work with Images. Many students have found their first contracts through these networking opportunities.

Celebrated industry creatives who have worked with London Studio Centre and Images Ballet Company include Mark Baldwin OBE, Leanne Benjamin AM OBE, Sir Matthew Bourne OBE, Leanne Cope, Michael Corder, Matthew Hart, Kate Lyons, Christopher Marney, Ashley Page OBE, Morgann Runacre-Temple and Christopher Wheeldon OBE.

Senri Kou

London Studio Centre Diploma & One-Year Professional Diploma

Senri Kou is a classical ballet teacher with the English National Ballet school. She began dancing at the age of 4 in Japan and completed her dance training at London Studio Centre. She then danced professionally for 18 years. Firstly, with Peter Schaufuss Ballet for 2 years, and then with English National Ballet for 16 years, where she performed corps de ballet, soloist and principal roles in major classical and contemporary works.

Érico Montes

London Studio Centre Diploma

Érico trained in São Paulo, Brazil, before moving to England to attend London Studio Centre. In 2004 he joined The Royal Ballet and was promoted to First Artist in 2010.

He went on to dance the company’s entire repertoire both at The Royal Opera House and around the world. He was in the original cast of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Winter’s Tale and Frankenstein.

He choreographed his first ballet for the company’s Draft Works in 2005. Since then he has created full length ballets for London Children’s Ballet (The Secret Garden, Nanny McPhee) as well as shorter pieces for New English Ballet Theatre (Toca, Wessendonk Lieder and Unbridled Blood) and London Studio Centre’s Images (Suite in Colour).

Since retiring as a dancer he has undertaken the role of Guest Teacher at the Royal Ballet and is currently the Ballet Master at New English Ballet Theatre.

Jennie Harrington

One-Year Professional Diploma

Jennie graduated from London Studio Centre in 2003 as a member of Images Ballet Company after undertaking the One Year Professional Diploma. Immediately upon graduating Jennie was offered a coveted position as a member of the English National Ballet company and has since enjoyed a long and varied career which has seen her perform numerous roles at a variety of exciting venues across the world. Whilst there must be countless memorable moments as a member of such a prestigious company Jennie has selected a few highlights: dancing at the Concert for Diana (2007), at the Closing Ceremony of the London Olympic Games (2012) and performing Akram Khan’s Dust at Glastonbury Festival (2014). Jennie has also been involved in the extraordinary production of Swan Lake in-the-round at The Royal Albert Hall and ENB’s performance of Le Corsaire at Palais Garnier in Paris, the first performance at the Opera House by a British company since 1970.

In 2016 Jennie won the first Corps de Ballet Award which recognises an ‘exceptional Artist of the Company that has gone above and beyond the call of duty’ at English National Ballet’s annual Emerging Dancer Competition. In 2018 Jennie retired as a dancer with the company and now works as English National Ballet’s Artistic Coordinator, as well as occasionally performing characters roles with them.
