London Studio Centre are thrilled with the current third year students; we have had the pleasure of seeing all four performance companies thrive in their end of year shows. We have seen such professionalism, diversity, and quality throughout the performances. When reaching third year here and LSC you will join one of our 4 companies, this would be our Jazz Dance Company (Jazz Theatre Dance), INTOTO Dance (Contemporary Company), IMAGES Ballet Company (Classical Ballet) and Seedtime (Musical Theatre). Every single one of our students will have the pleasure of working with industry professionals, this will involve day to day classes, workshops, performance opportunity’s, productions, seminars, Q&A’s and more.

Our Jazz Dance Company showed us power, high energy, dynamics and a variety of styles of jazz and musical theatre. Our audience were reminded and were able to reminisce on the many ‘Icons’ that we have seen to date.

During the tour you can see all styles like Tap, Technical Jazz, Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Hip-hop, Musical Theatre and Lyrical Jazz. Our students were able to show off the diverse training and knowledge.

The company worked with renowned choreographers for their tour pieces, such as Kenrick ‘H20’ Sandy MBE (Olivier Award winning ‘Pied Piper’), Carrie-Anne Ingrouille (Zoonation, Hamilton), Alan Burkitt, Dean Lee, Garry Lee, Kevan Allen, Lucy Banfield, Regan Shepard, Ricky Jinks and student choreographer Macaulay Nicholson.

During the period of May – June Images Ballet Company 2019 toured their exciting new show.

The students of Images were able to work with industry professionals such as choreographers, musicians, producers and designers. The show consisted of 4 pieces choreographed by Ashley Page OBE (Olivier award winning ‘Fearful Symmetries), Cameron McMillan (RD for Balletboyz, New Generation Award, DanceEast), Andrew McNicol (Creating for RB, London Olympics, Juice Opera and many more) Mikaela Polley (Senior RD Rambert, choreography for ENB, Rembert and many more).

Artistic Director Jennifer Jackson cleverly sourced appropriate choreographers for the students, and was able to add a humorous take in between the pieces for consistent entertainment. Students also had the pleasure of working with Martin Pyne (Composer and Musician).

INTOTO Dance 2019 presented us with innovative and diverse programmes nationwide and has a proud tradition of commissioning work by established artists from contemporary dance and dance theatre. INTOTO performed three very solid and technical pieces which showed off every single student.

This stimulating show was directed by Sue Booker, choreographers include Victoria Fox (Artistic Director of TRIBE//Company), Luke Brown (Founder of Luke Brown Dance), Nathan Johnston (Associate Artist for Upswing Ariel).

Seedtime Musical Theatre company had a 4 show run at The Pleasance theatre in June 2019 where they performed Little Shop of Horrors.

The company provides students with a working knowledge of the demands and disciplines of professional theatre. They are all involved in the process from the first rehearsal to final performance, working with industry professionals. As there is a large cast the final performances were split between the members to give students a fairer opportunity and the chance to learn tracks.

The tour process is now over for all of our 3rd year companies, we are getting ready to go goodbye as they graduate in July, many of our students have already been signed and are preparing for professional contracts so keep an eye out on social media for more information.
