Saturday 14th July was an extremely busy day in the LSC calendar!

Saturday the 14th of July was an incredible day for LSC. For the whole weekend we took over New Wimbledon Theatre and on Saturday, not only did our first and second years perform two of the 4 Dance Overture performances, our third years also had their graduation ceremony!!

Leading the festivities was director of the college, Nic Espinosa along with Guest of Honour Mark Baldwin who presented the graduates with their certificates.

Having served as artistic director of Rambert Dance Company for 15 years Mark is also on the board of governors and a patron of London Studio Centre.

As well as presenting each student with their certificates, Mark also presented the annual student awards and wished all graduates the best of luck for the future.

Dance Overture was again a huge success this year. Developed and rehearsed in just 5 weeks our first and second year treated audience to an exuberant display of jazz dance, ballet, contemporary dance, and music theatre. Students worked with industry professionals including LSC alumni creating a fantastic and exciting performance made up of 27 different pieces.

All in all, it was an incredibly special weekend and everyone here at LSC revelled in the chance to celebrate the fantastic achievements of every single student. We wish our students a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming them back, along with our new intake, in September. We also wish the best of luck to our new graduates and hope to see them very soon!
