Terms and Conditions

Conditions of Application

  1. A non-refundable Audition fee of £40 is payable by applicants for a place on a course at London Studio Centre. This fee is payable online as part of the application process.
  2. The audition fee may be refunded if the applicant does not fulfil LSC entry criteria for the year in which they have applied and is therefore not offered an audition.
  3. The audition fee is payable for application via video and overseas auditions.

Conditions of Enrolment

  1. Students registering for a place on a course at London Studio Centre are required to pay a £500 registration fee. The fee will be refunded when the student has completed his/her studies and all debts are cleared.

    If the registrant does not meet the conditions set out in the letter of offer and is therefore not able to enrol on the course, the fee will be refunded. If the registrant decides not to take up his or her place for any other reason, the fee will be retained by the college. All students on the BA Hons degree programme must pay a registration fee determined by the University (currently included within the annual tuition fee).

  2. To secure the offer of a place on a course at London Studio Centre registrants must return the completed Registration Form, together with the registration fee, to the Admissions and Registry Administrator by the date indicated in the letter of offer. Completion of the registration form includes a guarantor declaration. Information regarding tuition fees and support is included with the offer of a place which aims to ensure that students are fully aware of the expected fees associated with the chosen course of study at London Studio Centre. It is the students' and parent/guardians’ opportunity to consider very carefully the financial commitment into which they are entering and to take full responsibility for it.
  3. Students failing to pay their fees according to the agreed instalment plan will be required to meet with the Director and normally have their admission suspended. If a student cannot continue to pay their tuition fees they will not normally be able to continue their studies, however fees will remain due.
  4. Registrants of the BA Hons degree programme must provide proof of academic qualifications in accordance with the letter of offer. Registrants whose secondary education has been conducted in a language other than English must also prove proficiency in the English language by taking the International English Language Test (IELTS) administered by the British Council, or the equivalent. All exam results must be supplied to London Studio Centre by the 31st August in the year of entry.
  5. All registrants are required to provide London Studio Centre with proof of identity. Copies should be sent with the registration form. Originals will be required at enrolment on the first day of term, e.g.: birth certificate and passport. Please do not send any original documents.
  6. A copy of the medical form signed by the student’s doctor must be provided before the commencement of the course.
  7. Tuition fee invoices are sent out for the full year’s fees prior to the commencement of the academic year, normally on the 1st August annually. Full tuition fees are due by the 1st September; however termly and monthly payment plans are available, details of which are sent with the invoice.
  8. A student may withdraw from the course at any time, provided a full term’s written notice is submitted to the Registrar at the London Studio Centre before withdrawal. If notice is given during term time, fees are liable for that term, plus the following term. E.g. to confirm withdrawal for the summer term, notice must be received prior to the first day of the spring term. If such notice is not given a further term’s fees shall be paid by the student in lieu of such notice.
    Please note: If a student fails to progress on the course no claim shall arise for the return of any proportion of the fees payable for that term.There will be no reimbursement of fees if the student is unable to continue his/her studies through illness or injury; however the possibility of temporary withdrawal may be offered.
  9. Students enrolled at London Studio Centre must abide by the general regulations of the college. BA Hons degree programme students also need to abide by those stated in the University validated Programme Handbook and the University Regulations. Students should be aware they are entering into a contract with London Studio Centre and Middlesex University involving mutual obligations.
  10. Students enrolled on the programme consent to being recorded or photographed. This could include but is not limited to class work, assessments, and performances. These will be used by London Studio Centre for both educational and publicity purposes.
  11. Students enrolled on the programme give consent that LSC will pass on personal data about themselves (that is possibly sensitive) to selected third parties, such as:
    1. The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA); further details about the information they require can be found on the HESA web pages. HESA fair processing notices are made available to students on LSC’s virtual learning environment, it is the student’s responsibility to read this information and contact the Registrar should they have any queries.
    2. Middlesex University; in line with LSC and MDX’s contingency plan, student enrolment data is shared in a secure location.
    3. artsdepot; LSC will share students’ email address to ensure they are kept up to date with performances within the artsdepot building. This will include discounts and offers for LSC students.

Foundation Course Conditions of Enrolment

  1. Students registering for a place on the Foundation Course are required to pay a £500 registration fee; this will be deducted from the second fee instalment.

    If the registrant does not meet the conditions set out in the letter of offer and is therefore not able to enrol on the course, the fee will be refunded. If the registrant decides not to take up his or her place for any other reason, the fee will be retained by the college.

  2.   6. Foundation Course fees: Invoices are sent out for the full year’s fees prior to the start of the academic year.
    The tuition fees are payable in two instalments:
    • The first instalment is payable by 4th August.
    • The balance is payable before the following 1st December (the £500 deposit is deducted from the final instalment).
  7. If a student chooses to withdraw from the Founcation Course the student remains liable for the full year's fees.
  8. Students enrolled at London Studio Centre must abide by the general regulations of the college. Students should be aware they are entering into a contract with London Studio Centre involving mutual obligations.

Guarantor Agreement for Tuition Fees:

London Studio Centre requires each student to have a guarantor in place, this agreement is made between the guarantor and the college. This guarantor agreement creates a binding legal contract. If you do not fully understand the nature of the agreement, then it is recommended you contact the college or take independent legal advice before signing.

  1. The college has offered a place to the student and should the student accept the guarantor agrees to act for the student should they fail, for any reason, to meet the financial commitments arising from the course.
  2. This guarantor agreement refers to the current course being undertaken and any deferral of part of the course. 
  3. If a student, following demand, fails to pay the tuition fees due under the fee agreement,the guarantor undertakes to pay to the college the fees within 10 days of receipt of a written demand from the college or an agent acting on behalf of the college.
  4. The guarantor shall pay on demand all reasonable losses and expenses of the college incurred as a result of default by the student in the performance or observance of the student’s covenants under the fee agreement. Any failure of the college in demanding or collecting the fees when they are due, and any time to pay which may be given to the student by the college shall not release the guarantor or in any way affect the liability of the guarantor under this agreement. Should the guarantor die during the currency of the agreement, the guarantor’s estate will be liable as surety and co-principal debtor.
  5. This guarantee applies for the whole of the course and is not revocable during that course.
  6. It is agreed that there shall be no right to cancel this agreement once the course has begun and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) regulations (2000) shall not apply in this case.

Who can sign as a guarantor?

  • They should be able to afford the tuition fees if the student is unable to pay
  • Be aged 18-75
  • Have a good credit history
  • Normally a parent/guardian

Audition Appeals

Applicants cannot appeal against the decision of the Admissions Review Board itself, but they may appeal if new information is available about circumstances that affected the process, for example appealing based on illness. London Studio Centre has a policy not to offer individual feedback from the audition process.
